We love gardening at Pre-School . . . in fact we are getting quite green fingered!

  • Why we do it

Being outdoors is great for our children . . . and they love it! The fresh air works wonders for them, and outdoor activities keep them active too!

Gardening offers so many fun and interesting opportunities for children, and teaches them invaluable lessons.

They can learn about the different species of plants and what those plants need to help them grow. They also get to learn about the different seasons, weather and the affects they have on the plants. It also offers an opportunity to learn about different shapes and colours, and different animals and insects they might come across.

  • Our awards

We are currently working on our RHS gardening awards https://schoolgardening.rhs.org.uk/school-gardening-awards

We have been planting our vegetables, bedding plants and filling up the water butt many times! . .

We have been pruning, watering and looking out for the pesky squirrels too!

With our new potting shed we will be well away with more exciting projects!

Take a look at our photos below . .

Our new potting shed . . .

If we are going to be budding gardeners . . .

. . . . we need a great place to start!

Our new potting shed will enable us to grow, cultivate from seed and nurture life in our outside garden area at Pre-School . . . Just like any traditional greenhouse, our potting shed will offer a sanctuary for our plants, creating the ideal growing temperature, especially for those that aren’t ready to brave the outdoors! . . .

Who knows what will happen next!?

We also have lots of new goodies to use too from our RHS awards!

Take a look below on the construction of the potting shed . . .

We have a little help too . .

Every other week Juliana’s grandma pops along to help in the potting shed . . . a wealth of knowledge is shared with the children! . . .
